Kim Chung

Director A recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (UW-Madison), class of 2018, Kim Chung hails from Madison, Wisconsin, with a dual degree in Neurobiology and East Asian Studies while holding a certificate in Asian American Studies. During her time at UW-Madison, she has been able to balance her roles in VSA UW, academics, and various jobs such as a technology instructor of a pre-college program for local underrepresented high school students. Although currently “funemployed,” she aspires to work in the medical industry while still making major contributions to the Vietnamese community. Kim’s hobbies include exploring new cities in search of yummy foods and being head chef in her household.

Em Nguyen

Staff Member Em Nguyen is an alumnus of the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biology pursuing a career in the field of nursing. In the past, he has served multiple leadership roles within UHVSA, UVSA South, and UNAVSA. He aspires to make a career in the healthcare industry and partnering with organizations for philanthropy work. In his free time he enjoys playing board games with friends, crafting, hiking, seeking adventure in the outdoors, cooking & baking, and being a hardcore foodie at heart!

Em Nguyen

Staff Member Em Nguyen is an alumnus of the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biology pursuing a career in the field of nursing. In the past, he has served multiple leadership roles within UHVSA, UVSA South, and UNAVSA. He aspires to make a career in the healthcare industry and partnering with organizations for philanthropy work. James Vuong

Staff Member A recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), with a degree in Health Information Management. James Vuong originates from Chicago, Illinois and his VSA story began when he first became part of his local Cultural Dance team. Since then he’s taken on several position at his regional conference (VIA-1) and most recently UNAVSA IT Cabinet last term. He currently works as a Product Zone Specialist at Apple Inc. and a Clerical Assistant at UI Health’s Endocrinology & Diabetes Clinc. James’ passions are Urban and K-POP Dancing in addition to exploring and taking food photography.

Adeline Bui

Staff Member Studying at University of South Carolina – Columbia, Adeline Bui is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Business. With dreams and hopes in working in the medical industry and becoming a doctor, she would still love to be more involved in the Vietnamese American Community, starting with UNAVSA. Being heavily involved in her dance team, USC Moksha, she loves all kinds of dancing including Bhangra, Swing, and HipHop. Aside from dancing, she is always down to grab some dessert!

Adeline Bui

Staff Member Studying at University of South Carolina – Columbia, Adeline Bui is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Business. With dreams and hopes in working in the medical industry and becoming a doctor, she would still love to be more involved in the Vietnamese American Community, starting with UNAVSA. Being heavily involved in her dance team, USC Moksha, she loves all kinds of dancing including Bhangra, Swing, and HipHop. Aside from dancing, she is always down to grab some dessert!

Matthew Nguyen

Staff Member Matthew Nguyen is a junior Management Information Systems major and Cybersecurity minor at Texas A&M University from Houston, Texas. He first began his humble journey with VSA during his freshman year, where he quickly nurtured his love for Vietnamese culture and its community. The organization served as a very important catalyst for his development as a professional and as a leader. Through the encouragement and support of the many inspirational people that he came to meet as a result of his involvement, he took on a number of positions and responsibilities within his local VSA and the South region. As he continues to move forward, Matthew tirelessly works to serve the community to the best of his ability and is always eager to listen to and learn from the perspectives and motivations of everyone that he meets.
